So, I bought a EVGA 8800gts as some of you may know. Some of you may also know that EVGA offers a step up program that allows you to upgrade to a newer card with an exchange/credit of your old card.

I've got 18 days to act on it and was wondering what you guys think of this? I'd upgrade to 8800gtx (at $220 with credit).

At current  the 8800gts has 96 stream processors, where as the 8800gtx has 128 (also 640mb with the 8800gts whereas the 8800gtx has 768mb), worth the $220 to do it?

Thanks for any and all input.
:)

I'd say its well worth the upgrade if you can do it. I love my 8800GTX, plays Crysis demo at highest detail setting with no problems. I'm saving up for a second one to run in SLI mode.

Oh boy... my new main rig is now going to be down for awile(in 1-2 days)... Gotta mail my existing card in, then wait for them to inspect/verify then they mail out the new card. Arg! I wish EVGA worked under the honor system! haha! :D

I wont be completely out of a PC though, I've got my old rig and it can still run some circles. Also got some console systems, and board games, and my PDA... haha!

:D
