OK, so I know I'm a little out of the gaming loop (too much Civ 4 BTS), but does anyone still play 2142?

I havnt played it in months... I think they made it biased for noobs and veterans. As a noob can join a game, have the worst weapons, not being able to run... very far, and no cloak at all. And the veterans can swoop in, kill'em and they have no clue as to what happend to them. It turned me off really as I could unload an entire clip of nearly any weapon onto someone... and they wouldnt die. I may load it up on my new rig at some point, but for now just enjoying BF2 as I feel I am getting more in tune with it finally. :)

Want to play it again, but like outlaw said, not very noob or casual gamer friendly. So I was put off by it too. Nevertheless, am thinking about playing this one again. God bless.

I was turned off of it too by it's noob unfriendliness. The battlefield series is supposed to be about balance...meh.

Huh... It's pretty tactical and very group oriented. The assault class weapons are pretty standard and one of the best weapons in the game. I typically switch to the base weapon for medic. If you don't have any points then you just have to pick up someone elses...they are typically laying everywhere I go. Its a great squad play game...not a s much fun in solo mode. Killing people take a few mroe bullets than BF2 which may be some of the turn off. I thought it was good.

I was playing it but my pc wont let me play it now for some reason. It starts lets me log in i go to join a server, it crashes to desktop and says BF2142PACE.EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING. Any ideas and i can go back to playing it also none of my battlefield games will play now.
