How many people play Crysis? I bought the game the day after it came out on my CC even though I couldn't afford it cause I was so excited from the hype; however I bought COD4 as well and installed that first (being an avid COD fan.) I play COD4 for about 10 minutes and made the decision not to get into Crysis, so I have yet another unused game on my shelf (I have plenty, I have AgeIII that I never installed for example.) I guess when the demo for Crysis finally came out I was so dissapointed with it. For instance, in far cry you have the option to be stealthy and snipe from a hill and penetrate the camp once the threat has dissapated, but (again this may just be from the crappy demo) I just got the sense that Crysis would only be a good single player game.. I can only imagine that Chaoticness online of everyone run n' gunning without absolutely no skill to their name except for the memorization of the maps to their benefit. That was kind of like the same deal with COD4 and pretty much every other game: once you memorize the maps and learn the environment, the imprint of the environment "burns" into your brain and you can pick out the smallest things out of place like a person running - is it really skill or just a sign that you play too much? I am using myself as an example for this one. I fall in the latter categoy, I really only become good at a game once I've played it enough, but as soon as a new game comes out - or a sequel - I start from the bottom again. At least with COD4 (in my opinion) the maps are so tiny that you don't have time to think much, it's really a matter of "how fast can you target your enemy and pull the trigger" at that point. I just get an eary sensation from Crysis that it won't matter if you built up your skill at it, it's just a matter of how much you play - and personally I chose not to make Crysis my main game because of that (I.e., I am not playing a game for another 1500 hours i.e., battlefield 2, just to rank up - because rank means nothing and yet people are obsessed with it because it's an ego trip.) I actually found in COD4 that you have challenges and an opporunity to become an expert on each weapon. I have to admit that I am still trying to get the red tiger camo for the M16 and have yet to move on to my second weapon) but I see servers full of people who are the highest rank with 50 kills per round and yet they die twice as much as they kill. Does Crysis actually offer a stepping program like COD4 where you can master the weapons slowly or is it you just jump in and run 'n gun like my first impression? That's my little comparison on the two games hehe |
